KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has fixed Rs 13,450 as the minimum monthly wage of labourers effective from fiscal year 2018/19.

The decision was taken as per the trilateral discussions held between employers, representatives of trade unions and government.

Speaking to the media personnel, Minister for Labour Gokarna Raj Bista said that the rate of salary increment of the workers is higher this time compared to the past increments.

On the occasion, Chairwoman of the Committee, Bhawani Rana, said it was imperative that the trade union should join hands for effective implementation of minimum wage rule.
