Kathmandu, January 5

Both the matches of the Pulsar Martyrs Memorial A Division Leagu0e ended in draws here at the Nepal APF Club grounds today.

GrandMaster Jawalakhel Youth Club played a 1-1 stalemate with Chyasal Youth Club, while Saraswati Youth Club held Nepal Police Club to a 1-1 stalemate.

The results did not affect the standing as NPC remained at the sixth position with 18 points from 12 matches, while Chyasal are eighth with 16 from 13 matches. Jawalakhel are at the ninth position ahead of Saraswati on superior goal difference after being tied on 13 points.

In the day’s first match, Jawalakhel took an early lead when Aruj Singh found the back of the nets in the 10th minute. Chyasal needed a penalty to level the scores in the 32nd minute when Tshiring Gurung converted from the spot.

In another match, Victor Amobi put Saraswati ahead in the 50th minute when he scored from the spot. But Saraswati’s joy shortlived as NPC levelled the scores three minutes later. Ravi Paswal scored the equaliser in 53rd minute.

Signature Manang Marshyangdi Club have already won the league with the winning run of 12 matches and they are on the verge of creating history of claiming the title with 100 per cent victory record. They have 36 points from 12 matches and will face NIBL Friends Club in the last round.

CMG Club Sankata have sealed the runners-up position with 28 points from 12 matches, while Ruslan Three Star Club (23), Tribhuvan Army Club (22) and Nepal APF Club (20) are in the race for the third position. Brigade Boys Club (nine), Friends (nine), Machhindra (seven) and New Road Team (six) are the bottom four clubs but the final round results will not affect clubs much as the league does not have the provision of relegation.
