Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is preparing the profiles of 100 tourist destinations introduced by the government for the Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 campaign.

Promotional profiles of 55 destinations have been completed so far, as per NTB. The promotional profiles of the remaining 45 destinations will be prepared and published by the end of the current fiscal year. “However, we plan to finish the preparations for the remaining destinations within three months,” informed Deepak Raj Joshi, chief executive officer of NTB.

The ministry has already handed over a total of Rs 500 million to all the local governments for the promotion and development of the selected tourist destinations in their respective areas. Each local government has received Rs five million. Meanwhile, NTB has also allocated a total of Rs 1.2 million to prepare the profile of the selected 100 tourist destinations to the respective local governments.

Aiming to attract tourists in new destinations and make them aware about other areas of the country, the government had selected 100 tourist destinations last year.
