SAG 2019: Bronze for Nepal in women’s cricket

KATHMANDU: Nepal have added a bronze medal to its account by defeating Maldives in the women’s cricket match held for the third spot at the ongoing South Asian Games.

Nepal snatched a ten-wicket win against Maldives in the game held at Pokhara. Maldives scored a meagre eight runs in 11.3 overs which was met by Nepal in 1.1 overs without loss of wickets.

Aima Aishath was the only batter to have scored a run for Maldives while the rest of the runs came in the form of extras. Anjali Chand shone for Nepal again with her economic bowling, picking four wickets in four overs with three maidens while giving off only one run.

Roma Thapa and Kajal Shrestha scored four* and two* runs, respectively.

Bowler Chand was picked the player of the match.
