England’s last fixture of the year ends with a win thanks to William’s deflected late strike. It wasn’t an especially impressive performance but the conditions were difficult and the team at least made sure they got a result that relieves pressure at least a little. Mead and Staniforth had decent games and Hemp did well off the bench.

90 min: There will be at least three minutes to stoppage time. Absolutely nothing suggests the Czechs can draw level again. They spend most of the second half hanging on and they don’t look to have the energy to mount a comeback now. So all England have to do is play it cool in the snow …
