KATHMANDU: DAV School won the title of the MIS Inter-school Cricket Tournament organised by Modern Indian School on Friday.
DAV defeated Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyala by 66 runs in the final match. Batting first, DAV were bowled out for 115 runs in 20 overs but they defended the total packing SAM for a paltry 49 runs in 14 overs.
Samir Ansari top scored for DAV with 32 runs, while Pratham Budal of SAM took four wickets. DAV’s Raunak Goyal and Piyush Goenka took two wickets each.
Goyal was declared the player of the tournament, while MIS duo Anurag Chaudhary and Divyam Kishore were named the best batsman and emerging player respectively.
Sandesh Adhikari of SAM was adjudged the best bowler. A total of eight teams took part in the tournament.
SP of Nepal APF Netra Kunwar Khatri and MIS Principal Raju Peter handed over the prizes to the winners.
