Kathmandu, June 29
The Pramod Raj-Sabitri Pandey Memorial Foundation felicitated five individuals including two from sports fraternity amidst a programme today.
Youth cricketer Kabita Kunwar was honoured with Pramod Raj-Sabitri Pandey Memorial Emerging Women Cricketer Award, while Sarita Shrestha of Avenues TV was feted with Pramod Raj-Sabitri Pandey Memorial Sports Journalist Award.
Likewise, litterateur Geeta Tripathi received the Pramod Raj-Sabitri Pandey Memorial Literature Award.
They received Rs 15,000 along with felicitation letter each. Senior artists Bhuwan Chand Thapa and Basundhara Bhushal were also felicitated on the occasion.
Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts KK Karmacharya and President of the foundation Manish Raj Pandey handed over the felicitation letters and awards to the winners.
The foundation also provided scholarships of Rs 10,000 each to Milan Bogati and Ashmi Praja, the primary level students of Panchakanya Basic School of Lamtangin, Kathmandu.
The foundation also provided the school with teaching materials for Nursery and sports kits.
The Foundation, established in memory of senior pilot Pramod Raj Pandey and his spouse Sabitri Pandey, has been felicitating and awarding the individuals for their contribution towards the society, informed Pandey, who is also the President of Cricket Players Association Nepal.
Last year, the Foundation had felicitated the skippers of the national cricket team.
