NCCS fetes Kunwar

KATHMANDU: Nepali Cricket Supporters Society felicitated women’s national cricket team member Kabita Kunwar with the second National Service Award here on Saturday.

The NCCS established the award in memory of its founder member Pramod Bajracharya who passed away on May 4 last year.

The NCCS had decided to give this year’s award to an emerging cricketer. The NCCS and family of Bajracharya have established welfare fund of Rs 200,000 for the award.

Women’s national team coach Binod Das, NCCS President Biraj Ghimire and Sanju Bajracharya, sister of deceased Pramod Bajracharya, among others handed over Rs 25,000 and felicitation letter to Kunwar.

Apsari Begam and Bindu Rawal were the other two cricketers who were shortlisted for the award. Also, the NCCS honoured its founder member Binod Nepal for his contribution in establishing the Society and connecting it to the supporters.
