KATHMANDU: Nepali national men’s football team is playing an international friendship match with Kuwait today.

It is the first match after Johan Kalin became the lead coach of Nepali team. The game is being played in Kuwait.

Before the game, lead coach Kalin informed at a press meet that the match would be an important event. “Nepali football has a long way to go; the match with Kuwait is the initial step for future. We make rigorous efforts to win today’s match,” he observed.

Nepal and Kuwait are playing after 19 years. They had played in the AFC Asia Cup in 2000, where Nepal was defeated 1-0 by Kuwait.
Today’s match is therefore taken as an opportunity for Nepal to show its strength.

On the other hand, Kuwait lead coach has also claimed that his team would win the match.
