KATHMANDU: Nepali all rounder Rohit Paudel rewrote history at the ICC Academy in Dubai becoming the youngest man to hit 50 runs in an international ODI.

Paudel one of the last order batsmen contributed the most of 55 runs in just 58 balls against UAE as Nepal basked in an unrestrained bout with the bat in their 2nd ODI.

With a remarkable batting display at the age of 16 years and 146 days, Paudel has beaten the likes of legendary Indian batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Pakistan’s Boom Boom Shahid Afridi.

Afridi had secured his ODI half century against Kenya at the age of 16 years and 217 days. In the same match Afridi had made his career’s fastest century in 37 balls. Likewise, Sachin Tendulkar had come up with his ODI half century at the age of 17.

Right hand batsman Paudel of Nawalparasi who leads the record of Youngest ODI half century debuted in ODI for Nepal at Amstelveen against Netherlands on August 3, 2018. Paudel against the Dutch side in his ODI debut had to settle for less that double figure run at 6 runs.
