13th South Asian Games: Gold tally reaches 30 on Thursday

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s medal count has reached 75 so far with 30 gold, 17 silver and 28 bronze in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG) which is underway in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.

Nima Gharti Magar, adding the latest gold for Nepal, won in the all-round Nangun event of Taolu in Wushu leaving behind her Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan rivals at Army Physical Fitness Centre in Lagankhel, Lalitpur on Thursday.

Magar received a total of 18.91 points. This is the second gold for Magar in Wushu. She had won a gold in Wushu in 12th SAG.

Similarly, Bishwo Buda Magar and Mina Ghalan added two silver medals to Nepal’s medal tally. Magar won the silver in all-round Gunshu event of Taolu in Wushu while Ghalan in Taijijian of Wushu.

Nepal is currently trailing behind India in the 13th SAG after leading the tally chart for three days.
