Dublin on brink of losing Euro 2020 games over failure to guarantee fans

Dublin is on the brink of relinquishing its status as one of the 12 Euro 2020 host cities after failing to offer a guarantee on minimum spectator levels.

European football’s governing body, Uefa, had set a deadline of Wednesday for countries to confirm stadiums would be at at least 25% capacity for the tournament this summer. But the Football Association of Ireland said it had been unable to do so “owing to the Covid-19 pandemic”.
