KATHMANDU: Samriddhi Gorillas defeated ISO Kite 60-43 for their second consecutive victory in the women’s section match of the Kwiks Nepal Basketball League here on Sunday.

Player-of-the-match Muna Maharjan top scored for the Gorillas with 19 points. The Gorillas dominated the match and they never trailed after opening up with a 10-5 lead. They won the second quarter 16-10 to extend the lead to 11 points. Gorillas then netted 17 points each in the next two quarters, while Kite managed 13 and 15 respectively. Nepal Police Club thrashed Saipal Academy 77-45 in the day’s another match. NPC took a 15-9 lead in the first quarter and extended the lead to 15 points after winning the second period 22-13.

NPC took the third quarter 18-13 and won the last one 22-10 to complete the victory. Samikshya Neupane of NPC was named the player of the match for her 12 points. In men’s section, Royal Basketball Club beat BMC South Siders Basketball Club 85-74.

RBC took a 28-20 lead in the first quarter before winning the second one 17-14. South Siders took the third quarter 21-19 before the home team won the final period 21-19. Nikesh Magar of RBC won the player-of-thematch award for his 23 points.
