Kathmandu, June 3

Para-taekwondo Committee of Nepal Taekwondo Association and Mentor Consultancy today signed an agreement to support the players.

Para-taekwondo Committee Chief Kasim Miya Dhobi and Managing Director of Mentor Consultancy Hemanta Bhattarai signed the memorandum of Understanding. As per the agreement, Mentor Consultancy will provide the committee with uniform, equipment and diet for the players for the next two years apart from supporting players in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

Mentor Consultancy also felicitated the international medallists of the last two years. Bhattarai and NTA President Prakash Shumsher Rana handed over Rs 10,000 and felicitation letter each to para-taekwondo players PaleshaGovardhan, RanjanaDhami and Sita Bhandari.

Govardhan won the bronze medal in the fourth Asian Para-taekwondo Championship in Vietnam last month, while Dhami had bagged silver in 2016 Asian Para-taekwondo Championship and bronze medals seventh World Para-taekwondo Championship and third Asian Para-taekwondo Championship in 2017. Likewise, Bhandari had won silver medals in the fifth European Open Para-taekwondo Championship and IWAS World Games in 2015.

NTA President Rana thanked Mentor Consultancy for para-taekwondo at a time when corporate sector was investing only for able-bodied ones. “Mentor Consultancy has done an exemplary job and I request them to continue with the support in future as well,” said Rana. Mentor Consultancy MD Bhattarai said he was delighted to get the opportunity to contribute for para-taekwondo. “We hope this small contribution from our side will help players to do better in the days to come,” Bhattarai added.

NTA Secretary Deepak Bista thanked Mentor Consultancy for extending their hands to help para-taekwondo. “The Para-taekwondo committee’s association with Mentor Consultancy will motivate us to put in hard work to develop the sport and it will definitely boost the morale of the players in international arena,” said Bista, who is also the brand ambassador of Mentor Consultancy.
