Lalitpur, December 23

Signature Manang Marshyangdi Club registered their 10th consecutive victory to extend the lead to five points after the completion of 10 rounds of the Pulsar Martyrs Memorial A Division League here today.

MMC, the only unbeaten side of the league, defeated Nepal Police Club 1-0 at the ANFA Complex grounds. Adelaja Somide Oluwawunmi scored the solitary goal of the match in the second half. After a goalless first period, Oluwawunmi found the back of the nets in the 53rd minute following a long pass from Heman Gurung.

MMC accumulated 30 points from 10 matches and they are five points ahead of CMG Club Sankata, who faced their only loss at the hands of the leaders and dropped points against Brigade Boys Club. Defending champions Ruslan Three Star are third with 23 points.

NPC created a couple of opportunities to level the scores but failed to convert any. NPC, who faced their fourth loss in the league, are sixth with 15 points.

Nepal APF Club, meanwhile, moved up to fifth following their 2-1 victory over departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army Club. Ashish Lama scored a brace for APF, while Nawayug  Shrestha replied for TAC. With their fifth victory, APF accumulated 16 points to climb to fifth position but they are still two points behind TAC, who faced their second defeat in the league. TAC are fourth with 18 points.

After both the teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half, Lama opened the scoring in the 56th minute and he doubled the tally in the 86th minute. National team striker Shrestha cut the deficit a minute later but that was not enough for the Armymen to avert their second defeat.
