Nepal beat Thailand by 120 runs in World Twenty20 Asia qualifiers

KATHMANDU: Nepal registered an easy win against Thailand in a rain washed match in World Twenty20 Asia Qualifiers at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Moreover, Nepal climbed the top spot in the group as they beat Thailand by a wide margin of 140 runs in a win settled through Duckworth–Lewis (D/L) method.

Thailand won the toss and opted to field first, in response Nepali batsmen posted a total of 172 runs in 20 overs.

Karan KC, the player of the match hit 40 runs not out and bagged 3 wickets for Nepal in less than 2 overs.

Meanwhile, Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane took 5 wickets in a three-over-spell.

Following an exceptional bowling spell from Nepali bowlers and relentless rains,the match came to an end in less that 9 overs of the second innings.
