LALITPUR: Province3 win the team championship of the first Vice-president Children Games here at the Army Sports Complex on Friday.
Province3 claimed 14 gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals in the two-day event that featured four sports disciplines — athletics, karate, taekwondo and wushu. Province4 came second with five gold, nine silver and two bronze medals, while Province5 finished third with four gold, eight silver and nine bronze medals. Province3 won team championships in three disciplines — karate, taekwondo and wushu, while Province5 claimed the athletics team trophy.
A total of 322 players from seven provinces took part in the event. Youth and Sports Minister Jagat Bahadur Sunar and National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista handed over prizes to the winners. — HNS
