BIRTAMODE: Tea Valley Ilam Basketball Club defeated BTM Hooligan 18- 12 in the final of the Birtamode leg of the Nepal Basketball League 3X3 East here on Sunday. A total of nine teams took part in the basketball tournament.
Tea Valley and Hooligan earned berths in the NBL 3X3 East finals slated for August 27 at the Temple Tower School in Birtamode. Eastern Swish and Bal Kalyan Vidhya Mandir have qualified from Biratnagar, while Itahari Stags and Horizon are the two finalists from Dharan.
The six teams will be divided into two pools and the teams will compete in double league. Top two sides from both the pools will make it to the semi-finals. Top two teams will each Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
The organisers, Nepal Basketball League and Play for Deprived Children Nepal, will organise similar tournaments in three cities of the Western region — Dhangadhi, Pokhara and Butwal. Top two teams from the three cities will compete in the NBL 3X3 West finals in Dhangadhi.
