KATHMANDU: Nepal national basketball team is on Saturday leaving for Bangladesh to participate in the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Qualifiers for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup.
Teams from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives will take part in the pre-qualifying tournament for the Division-B nations of South Asia. Nepal Basketball Association President Lama Tendi Sherpa and General Secretary Narendra Thapa bade farewell to the team on Friday.
Kangaroo Education Consultancy and IMS are the sponsors of the team. Coach Dinesh Nakarmi said the players were picked up as per their performance in the Kwiks Basketball League. — HNS
