Kathmandu, July 15

After a gap of almost one month, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) is set to reopen applications for driving licence across the country from Tuesday.

Earlier, DoTM had halted the driving licence process (receiving applications, holding written examinations and driving trials) completely from mid-June to mid-July citing that DoTM offices had to prioritise works regarding retrial and revenue calculation and management of fiscal year 2017-18 during that period.

DoTM had also scrapped all online applications for driving licence received from mid-June to mid-July.

Thousands of service seekers were affected following DoTM’s decision to halt the driving licence issuance process throughout the Nepali month of Ashad (mid-June to mid-July).

Meanwhile, Tulsi Ram Aryal, spokesperson for DoTM, informed that DoTM will start receiving applications for driving licence starting Tuesday. He also informed that priority will be given to those service seekers who had submitted their applications for written examination and vehicle trial in between mid-June and mid-July.
