KATHMANDU: Nepal lost to India 3-2 in the final of the women’s volleyball match during the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Kathmandu, on Tuesday.

Nepal came from behind to lead 2-1 of the five-set before losing two straight sets to arch-rival India and failed to win a historical gold medal in the SA Games.

India started strongly and took the first set by storm 25-17 before Nepal bounced back in empathic fashion to lead 25-24 and 25-21 in the second and third set respectively.

With gold medal at stake in the final set, Nepal unexpectedly lost their rhythm and capitulated to 15-6 victory to India.
