KATHMANDU: Nepal women’s volleyball team has begun their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in the opening fixture of the 13th South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, on Wednesday.

Nepal recorded a 25-9, 25-9 and 25-11 victory over Bangladesh at the National Sports Council covered hall today.

Nepal buoyed after lifting their maiden international trophy—AVC Asian Central Zone Senior Women’s Volley Championship by thrashing Maldives 3-0 in the final— made the lift work of Bangladesh by defeating them with the same scoreline.

With the home support behind the team, star spiker Prativa Mali displayed a wide range of her striking ability in today’s match.
