Super League clubs have unanimously agreed plans that will give the competition greater authority to veto controversial signings in the future in an effort to draw a line under the furore surrounding Catalans Dragons’ signing of Israel Folau.

Folau’s arrival on a one-year deal was at the top of the agenda at a meeting of Super League clubs in Salfordon Wednesday, with many unhappy the sport’s hierarchy did not block the French club’s move for the controversial Australian.
