KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club romped to 5-1 victory over Sankata Club during Pulsar Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League at ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato of Lalitpur on Monday.

Despite taking a lead, Sankata conceded five goals and suffered an embarrassing loss to the departmental team. Both the teams missed a penalty kick.

TAC’s Tek Bahadur Budathoki scored a brace, skipper Bharat Khawas, Santosh Tamang and Dinesh Hemjam all smashed goals to inflict a heavy defeat on Sankata.

TAC were awarded a penalty kick as early in second minute, however, they failed to convert the kick and take an early lead. Sankata’s Elon Maxwell broke the deadlock on the ninth minute but Tek Bahadur Budathoka equalised in the 17th minute.

TAC skipper Khawas restored a lead in the 30th minute before the break. After resumption, Sankata were awarded a penalty and had the best chance to level the score however they failed to convert it.

There was no looking back for TAC as they plundered three goals in the second half to seal a dramatic win to top the 14-team table.

Santosh Tamang scores a brilliant goal from a free kick in the 63rd minute and three minutes later Tek Bahadur Budathoki scored his second and team’s fourth goal.

TAC Dinesh Hemjam registered his name in the scoresheet as he latches a goal in the 77th minute.

Tek Bahadur Budathoki was declared man of the match and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.
